The Greek Government has introduced the "e-Charter Permission" system, which became effective on December 29, 2023. This digital platform is designed for non-EU flagged luxury yachts, enabling those over 35 meters in length with non-wooden hulls to charter in Greek waters.
The system offers two types of permissions: Standard Charter Permission For contracts executed entirely within Greece. And , Charter Permission Plus , For contracts that start or end in Greek waters.
For Charters within Greek Waters the VAT is 5.2% while for embarkation or disembarkation outside of Greek Waters there is no VAT To be paid but there is an Administrative fee called TEPADACH PLUS
